Hi ,

 

This is very useful note. Thanks for sharing.

 

These parameters are dynamic for heaven sake ! Moreover , they are set as default 600 secs .

This means every 10 mins , valid/invalid entries are deleted from the hostname buffer

 

nscd was running earlier and we stopped that as well. And we waited more than half a day and tried all host name manual reset ( SM51 , smgw, smms, smicm etc., ) . No luck

 

the lgtst command worked in Linux . This means nscd is not active. But still SAP was looking at port 3200 instead of 3600.

 

As u mentioned I can try to change the parameters to 0 and try solve in Q system ( as I was forced to restart the prod app server yesterday :-(
